Day 3..I have to pee

5' 7" at 162 pounds and 39 years old.  I wasn't going to put that information out there...but there it is!  I just crossed over the BMI threshold for "normal weight".  I am now considered officially "overweight"  "sigh".   This time last year, I had had success with Weight Watchers and dropped 15 pounds leaving me at 137.  I gained it all back plus 10 more pounds...IN A YEAR!

I have been asked multiple times if I am expecting my third baby (I carry most of my weight in my belly).  Seriously people?  Don't you know never to ask that question?  Because when I answer "No, I just need to drop a few pounds" It's a pretty uncomfortable moment.

I just bought a new pair of capris yesterday.  When I read the receipt, the description said "Plus Size Capris".  THIS is why I have started this blog.  It's time to stop pretending like nothing is happening!  It's time to DO SOMETHING!

More water!  More veg!  We need to make this a mantra!

Have you been asked if your are preggers when you're not?  How did you handle it?

Small changes, big rewards (I'm banking on this!)

Day 2 to a healthier me--Drink More Water!

I started off the day with three glasses of water!  Yeah!  On the right track!  By mid morning, I had fallen into my same old coffee routine.  My little bladder let me know that it was not used to all this extra liquid when I had to excuse myself from a meeting with the boss to use the ladies room...GEEZ!
Maybe tomorrow I will pace my water drinking and not down three glasses before I get to work :-)

On the way home I hit up McDonalds for an Iced Mocha Frappe--Well, it is nearly 100 degrees today.   See, I think I can.. and then I just don't.  But now I am back on track drinking a glass of water as I blog.
Is there anyone else out there that has as much trouble drinking water as I do?
How many cups of coffee do you drink a day?

Anyway, I was going to give each new little change a week before I added another....but why wait that long?
My next change will be putting more veggie on my plate and less carb.  Starting tonight!
What you think?  Any takers?

Introduction!

Hello there!  Thanks for stopping in.  This is my very first time blogging.  I'm doing this because I need some change.  I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one out there who is fed up with nearly every avenue in life.  I won't go on and on.  I don't want to use this as a complaint board, but rather a postive place that I can record my experiences and hopefully track some postive change!  Care to join me?  Of all the things I need to change, the primary one is my health.  I'm 39 (yikes) and have settled into the midlife spread.  I swore when I was in my 20's this would never happen to ME!  Ya, that was before kids.  I can't blame baby weight.  It's the stress of raising two little boys, finding it hard to schedule exercise and lack of self control (like the fact that I polished off an entire box of Little Debbie oatmeal pies in two days--all by myself)!  My first attempt however is not to loose weight, but rather start making some better choices.  Starting tomorrow (mostly because it's 9:15pm and the day is kicked) I will start drinking more water.  We all know the benefits.  I am not in the health field, I sell insurance for goodness sakes--this is my disclaimer.  What I am doing is based soley on popular information about good health and nutrition.   Anyone else in?  We Can Do This!
